Wow! I was honored to receive an invitation from the Budapest Brand team to take part in @the.budapester! This year, the capital is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the unification of Buda and Pest. To commemorate this milestone, the city has organized a birthday exhibition and published a book. I was among the 151 illustrators from Hungary who were invited to contribute to a depiction of a specific year in the capital's history. I was assigned the year 1889, which marked the commencement of the tram service along the entire length of the Körút.
My drawing includes buildings that once stood along the Körút but have since disappeared. Among them is the National Theatre, which was still standing when the tram line started but was blown up in 1955. Being one of the graphic designers chosen for this project was a delightful experience and a tremendous honor. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the organizers for this opportunity.
